Magnesium for Sleep in Perimenopause: Still Tired? | Wade Lightheart (Episode 136)
About this episode
Getting 8 hours of sleep and still waking up exhausted? You're tired enough to need coffee to get through the day, then somehow still too wired to switch off at night. You add magnesium, track your sleep, clean up your routine... and still wake up wondering why your body doesn't feel recovered.

In this episode of The Well Drop, I sit down with Wade Lightheart, co-founder of BIOptimizers, to look at one of the most overlooked pieces of that cycle. We get into what most people don't realize about magnesium, why eating well doesn't always mean you're getting what you think you're getting, and what may be happening long before bedtime that makes sleep harder.
Then Wade makes a distinction between sleep and recovery that changes the whole conversation. If you're getting the hours, taking the supplements and still waking up tired, the question may not be how to sleep more. It may be what your body has been missing all along.
What's Discussed:
(00:00) Introduction
(06:20) Why midlife can expose what your body used to compensate for
(11:21) What changed about our food supply and why it matters
(22:25) Why you need to become the CEO of your own health
(28:05) The magnesium gap many people may be overlooking
(30:45) Why a sleep problem may actually start somewhere else
(44:51) What your sleep tracker can't tell you
(58:34) Wade's one drop of wellness wisdom

THE WELL DROP
[SPEAKER_03]: Here's something I know about you. [SPEAKER_03]: You are not short on information, and you definitely know a lot. [SPEAKER_03]: Yet, you're still not feeling the way you want to feel. [SPEAKER_03]: That's not a U-problem. [SPEAKER_03]: That's a foundation problem. [SPEAKER_03]: And here's the reality. [SPEAKER_03]: There has never been a clear roadmap for this chapter of midlife. [SPEAKER_03]: Until now, I built the well-drop because I was hired of piecing it together, too. [SPEAKER_03]: I was tired of
[SPEAKER_03]: protocols that were never built for this body at the stage in the season of life. [SPEAKER_03]: So I built the roadmap every Sunday, one drop lands in your inbox, one habit, one clear upgrade, just for where you are right now. [SPEAKER_03]: No noise, no overwhelmed, just what actually moves in needle. [SPEAKER_03]: You don't need more information, you need to build a wellness lifestyle for midlife. [SPEAKER_03]: That's it. [SPEAKER_03]: Subscribe at theweljoff.com or click the link in the show notes right now before this [SPEAKER_03]: you forget.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'll see you inside.
[SPEAKER_03]: Hello and welcome to The Wild Drop with me, Amber Berger, a podcast for Wellness Meet Simplicity, empowering you to own your wellness, starting at home. [SPEAKER_03]: Each episode we dive into things we wish we were warned about and explore practical street forward strategies designed for busy days like you. [SPEAKER_03]: Whether you're juggling meetings, running errands, or managing family life, I'm here to help sift through the noise and show you how integrating wellness into your daily routine can be simple and stress-free.
[SPEAKER_03]: find out how by tuning in to today's well-drapped.
[SPEAKER_03]: Did you know that the coffee you drink at 8 a.m. could still be working on your nervous system by 10 p.m. You could be getting 7 or 8 hours of sleep and taking your magnesium and your ring can say that you slept great, but are you still waking up feeling exhausted? [SPEAKER_03]: I hear this all the time from my coaching clients. [SPEAKER_03]: And the reality is that you might not have a sleep problem at all. [SPEAKER_03]: Today, I'm sitting down with Wade Lighthart, the co-founder of By Optimizers.
[SPEAKER_03]: They are a well-dropped approved brand, and I've been using their magnesium with my clients for years to help them sleep like a baby again. [SPEAKER_03]: We'd have spent his whole life in this industry from competitive bodybuilding to coaching pro athletes and he did not hold back. [SPEAKER_03]: Here are three things that you're gonna take away from this episode that you don't wanna miss. [SPEAKER_03]: Number one, why your sleep problem may actually be a nervous system problem and what is happening hours before you ever get into bed.
[SPEAKER_03]: Number two, the one number to look for on your magnesium bottle. [SPEAKER_03]: And number three, why your sleep score can't always be trusted and what to trust instead. [SPEAKER_03]: You definitely want to make sure states at the very end, because Wade's one drop of one was some cost absolutely nothing. [SPEAKER_03]: And after talking about minerals and supplements, it was not an answer I expected. [SPEAKER_03]: So let's drop in.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so all of your stuff, just so you know, well, one, I want to thank you guys. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if you know this, but you are a member of my curated network of well-drop approved brands. [SPEAKER_03]: And so we are growing a curated collective that came out of actually our audience of women saying, everyone comes up and says, just tell me what to do, tell me what to get, tell me where to go. [SPEAKER_03]: And so we really want to make that effortless for the women because I always say you don't need so many things you just need the right things to actually do what you want them to do so so many people are taking all these things and like I have a huge fan and have been a huge fan of your products for a long time so I want to say thank you to you for being inside our network and we're so excited to support you guys and to share you know.
[SPEAKER_03]: the amazing products you guys have. [SPEAKER_03]: And there's so many. [SPEAKER_03]: And I know you're focused on women's wellness now too, so we can also hit upon that as well. [SPEAKER_01]: Very focused on it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a great market segment. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think it's the decision-making leader when it comes to stuff at home and stuff like that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So well, this is something you might be interested in. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: On our company, our labor, like our whole labor, it's 57% women. [SPEAKER_01]: Great. [SPEAKER_01]: Looking at working our company. [SPEAKER_03]: I love that. [SPEAKER_03]: It's funny. [SPEAKER_03]: Most businesses why I created it is they forget the sort of market to us. [SPEAKER_03]: So we hold 85% of the purchasing power in the house. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure you know that now from studying for your home. [SPEAKER_01]: It's probably 98% of like supplements and stuff, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Because you got to get a factor out the car.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's like, there's like most of the rest of the money. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, 100% and so it's funny that they like think, I don't know why, anyways, people are waking up to it and so the noise to me is only going to get louder because it is a very big market opportunity. [SPEAKER_03]: And I focus on one of the says home as my core pillar, like you either live in a home that's working for you or again sue and that all comes down to your daily habits. [SPEAKER_03]: And so you fall into optimizing and upgrading your daily habits in [SPEAKER_03]: used to work, you can get away with sometimes in your 20s and your 30s, so it can stop working for you.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so that's the time where you start to feel it. [SPEAKER_03]: Like I have, I've been in the space a long time and I'm having the people who are not into any of this and always would sort of make fun of me. [SPEAKER_03]: They're starting to kind of they're creeping in now. [SPEAKER_01]: course. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, it's interesting because most of the people who are hormonally optimal that gives a more flexibility in their younger years. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a bigger crash when they don't have that to be that that's carry their decision making process maybe their whole lives.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's it's like the factor that's not accounted for until it's gone and then you become aware that you were just counting on this your whole life. [SPEAKER_01]: And so it's a smash in the face for a lot of [SPEAKER_01]: wrap their heads around. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I bet it's you know. [SPEAKER_03]: I say we are goal the well drop and I created the well drop method which is how to upgrade or daily habits to set a solid foundation. [SPEAKER_03]: And I say my goal is to help women glide into menopause not slam into it.
[SPEAKER_03]: And most women slam into it. [SPEAKER_01]: I like that. [SPEAKER_01]: Don't lie into it. [SPEAKER_03]: Let's glide into it. [SPEAKER_03]: Because my inspiration was a lot of women in their mid-50s who I was talking to and they were so miserable and so desperate and so lost and had just didn't know where to turn or what to use or they were trying so many things and it just wasn't working for them because of the quality of the choices they didn't know they thought they were good but they just weren't the best and so I like to find them the best.
[SPEAKER_03]: So you fall into that for me.
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so for, you know, last time, I mentioned earlier that we opened up women's eyes to the power of magnesium. [SPEAKER_03]: I use it all the time for every of my clients inside the well-dropped method. [SPEAKER_03]: And I speak about it all the time on the well-dropped platform. [SPEAKER_03]: And women are finally sleeping again. [SPEAKER_03]: And it has been so beautiful to see that it can sometimes happen within the same week, or sometimes it takes a little bit longer and they need to build up.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I wanted to know from you because you've been in the space a long time, why do you think magnesium has been this missing piece to help support sleep when it seems almost too easy and too simple? [SPEAKER_01]: First off, you have to go back to. [SPEAKER_01]: the environment that we live in today. [SPEAKER_01]: So I always say environment is stronger than will. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And that is also people tend to think of their environment as some sort of earth situation.
[SPEAKER_01]: And but there are levels to it. [SPEAKER_01]: That's true on a fundamental self. [SPEAKER_01]: But that's not enough information to drill into your lifestyle. [SPEAKER_01]: So then there is the country that you live in and the policies of within that country and the opportunities within that country, you know, so some places if you're in Saudi Arabia, for example, there's a lot of desert, you really need to focus on desalination and stuff if you're in Canada, it's something else if you're in America, it's something else if you're [SPEAKER_01]: So this influences one level and then the government influences on how those resources are going to be attracted and then ultimately that then that goes into your retail situation where you're going and then that ends up in your home which is the primary environment that you are making the decision.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you've got to set your home up. [SPEAKER_01]: which is much easier to control than all of those other elements. [SPEAKER_01]: So once you have your home environment set up in an optimized way, the foods that are available, your closeness to a place to do exercise, or that's at home, or near like that's a big factor in a modern world. [SPEAKER_01]: you need to make it easy. [SPEAKER_01]: Like if you've got our commute to go to your gym or whatever, you're going to skip that when you get on under time pressure.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: And then you know, is it simple? [SPEAKER_01]: Is it easy? [SPEAKER_01]: Is it built into your routine? [SPEAKER_01]: And then what's the food things that you have? [SPEAKER_01]: How do you manage the variabilities within your families? [SPEAKER_01]: Charles, these are the localized environment. [SPEAKER_01]: But once you've got that dialed in and you get a coach, someone who's done that and been that, because you just make an endless amount of errors, you need someone to walk you through it and submit yourself to a program and just do through the adaptive changes of that as opposed to trying to figure out what you need to do.
[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody has time for that now, I do. [SPEAKER_03]: I agree. [SPEAKER_03]: I feel back as so many people. [SPEAKER_03]: I say are doing great things just in the wrong order and they're trying so hard as not for a lack of effort. [SPEAKER_01]: No, it efforts you generally not be if the issue awareness and discernment. [SPEAKER_01]: Do I know what I need to do? [SPEAKER_01]: And and it is this proposed suggestion that I have in regards to this solution is that a solution that would actually work.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I would say there's nothing more expensive than a product that doesn't work. [SPEAKER_01]: So we've taken a very circuitous route to get to your original question. [SPEAKER_03]: Which is why it's making the well-dropped language. [SPEAKER_03]: You're just confirming I love that you're literally repeating things that I say to. [SPEAKER_03]: So it's always about hearing it multiple times. [SPEAKER_03]: So I think this is great to hear this from you. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, because it's the place that you make a choice from often determines the outcome of that choice and for example, if one is overwhelmed, stressed, you know, burned out over committed, if you're making a decision making process out of there, the likelihood of you getting success goes down exponentially because of where you're making the decision from.
[SPEAKER_03]: We first had Google, now we have it's even faster speed, so we're processing things so much more than our brains are even built to handle. [SPEAKER_03]: So it's information overload decision fatigue, I mean there's endless options out there, right? [SPEAKER_03]: I think people's brains are frying out basically at this point. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you see it everywhere, and we do a brain training every year where we work on the neural networks, brain capacity, ability to access, optimize states.
[SPEAKER_01]: We do all this every year just to keep our executives, that alone. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll continue to adapt the change. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, who has the time effort energy to do that sort of stuff? [SPEAKER_01]: It's really expensive. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a curate, you have to think time of your life. [SPEAKER_01]: We do it just in maintain. [SPEAKER_01]: So I always think at the end, consumer, [SPEAKER_01]: And what's going on in their lives? [SPEAKER_01]: It's one of the reasons we built the customer service team to the level that we've there, just to address all of the questions that come up all with the issues and make sure everything runs smoothly.
[SPEAKER_01]: But to get to the wires, magnesium, so element. [SPEAKER_01]: So I've always been, I've been in the industry my whole life. [SPEAKER_01]: From 15, I've worked at every single level of the industry. [SPEAKER_01]: I understand the regulatory environment, not just for this country, but at other countries. [SPEAKER_01]: I understand the historical elements that have led to sub-optimal situations, whether that was the 1970s when all of the food elements got added into the food chain, which create very addictive options, the increase in size, because they couldn't get [SPEAKER_01]: more market share because it was jumping up amongst three people and then that then you can go back to particulates in the magnesium thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We can go back to World War II. [SPEAKER_01]: So what happened in World War II was we had after the war we had a massive transference of people who worked in rural environments moving to the city. [SPEAKER_01]: And when they moved to the city, we had concerns about how are we going to supply sufficient amount of key essential food elements, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Staples. [SPEAKER_01]: So in that transformation, the governments began to create regulatory bodies in order to make sure that we can meet the menms.
[SPEAKER_01]: Keep in mind, we've just gone through the depression. [SPEAKER_01]: and then the war. [SPEAKER_01]: So we had massive restrictions from the depressions because of financial and then we had massive restrictions because of the war. [SPEAKER_01]: And then we had a plethora of options now because the world got connected after World War II. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and a lot of people get into this country, too. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: So now we have this massive mosh pit and then moving into cities and they're going into more like workforce labor related manufacturing services etc and people start instead of having a hobby farm at home or a large farm or you know they're on garden that was taken away from them and so we were getting a lot of our food supply out of local environments that used traditional farming methods.
[SPEAKER_01]: turnover crops, crop rotation, re mineralizing the soil, putting in the microorganisms, having a year of phala, although that seven year cycle that was put into farming, which had been developed over thousands of years, to reconstitute the soil. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, just like on the dietary elements, they add the food additives, they realize, okay, we need to make certain minimums. [SPEAKER_01]: So they start at moving to mono-culturing mega farms. [SPEAKER_01]: big manufacturing equipment got superior, you could handle larger amounts of product while that's sort of stuff.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then these minimums, which were regulated by the government, was then like, hey, we need to have this much, we need to have this much, so we need to do this much, right? [SPEAKER_01]: So what emerged out of that is we stopped the traditions of thousands of years of crop rotation for nutrient elements. [SPEAKER_01]: and we could add things like nitrogen to increase crop yield. [SPEAKER_01]: So we increased the crop yield, but we diminished the nutrient quality inside of the plants.
[SPEAKER_01]: That had a deterioration effect, which is related to humans. [SPEAKER_01]: When you deplete the essential elements that makes a plant live, [SPEAKER_01]: It has an weakened immune system. [SPEAKER_01]: Another word is, is not as resilient to all of the elements out there, bugs, funguses, like all of the different elements that can destroy a plant, a disease state of a plant, now become easier to attach. [SPEAKER_01]: And so the plants started to wipe themselves out of all these different elements.
[SPEAKER_01]: So the next idea was, well, no problem,
[SPEAKER_01]: So they're now the chemicals on the other side, pesticides, fungicides, plus nitrogen. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're growing bigger yields from the caloric model. [SPEAKER_01]: And let's not underestimate the influence of the caloric model on these decisions, because as we brought the caloric model out that we have this much protein, this much carbohydrate, this much fats. [SPEAKER_01]: And then all of the boards try to get their peace into adjust what we needed as humans, which like the food pyramid, which we just have.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was just not flipped, literally up there. [SPEAKER_01]: Was simply, it was a propaganda campaign to sell more product in various industries that had lobbyist groups in Washington. [SPEAKER_01]: That's all it was about. [SPEAKER_01]: And it just devolved into, when we do the estimates to give you an example, an orange in the 1950s, you'd have to eat like 20 some oranges to get the same nutrient quality of an orange back in the 50s.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you can take this across all of the plant camp. [SPEAKER_01]: And realize that the food that your grandparents were eating was significantly different. [SPEAKER_01]: And you'll see this often when you have people from Europe or Herz of Asia and stuff that have been long wall, it hasn't been happening this. [SPEAKER_01]: They come here and I coach thousands of them in the day to say, we guys are the food changed. [SPEAKER_01]: But food isn't the same. [SPEAKER_01]: They can tell us that they can feel it because they know what great food is.
[SPEAKER_01]: an organically grown by a dynamic garden. [SPEAKER_01]: You never have to. [SPEAKER_01]: You have a cucumber at an agar or tomato or whatever your favorite threshold. [SPEAKER_01]: It has a complete male difference, a taste difference, a field difference. [SPEAKER_03]: I realized that actually when I went when I was in college and I went to study in Italy, I never liked tomatoes, American tomatoes. [SPEAKER_03]: And then I went there, and so my thought was, oh, I don't like tomatoes, but there's so much tomatoes there, so finally I was like, all right, I'll try one because there was probably the only thing to eat, and it was delicious, and I love tomatoes, but I only love tomatoes, not from here, but I like it from over there.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm taking a quick moment to share something with you because the number one question I get asked is, where do I even start? [SPEAKER_03]: Lucky for you, you don't have to figure that out because I already did the work for you. [SPEAKER_03]: And I've built it over the last 10 years. [SPEAKER_03]: It's called The Well Drop Blueprint. [SPEAKER_03]: No prep, no planning, just open your email every morning for 14 days and get one habit. [SPEAKER_03]: One clear upgrade that tells you exactly what to do that day.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's it. [SPEAKER_03]: Here's your permission slip. [SPEAKER_03]: It's never too early and it's also never too late to start. [SPEAKER_03]: The women doing this right now range from their early 30s to their 80s, because building is solid while this foundation works at every age. [SPEAKER_03]: And the sooner you start, the faster you will feel the difference. [SPEAKER_03]: The reality is women are doing great things, but off a rocky foundation. [SPEAKER_03]: The blueprint is your starting point.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's simple. [SPEAKER_03]: It's clear and delivered to your inbox. [SPEAKER_03]: Go to the wilddrop.com right now or click the link in your show notes, open to mouse email. [SPEAKER_03]: It's your starting point to building a wellness foundation that helps make everything else you do work better. [SPEAKER_03]: Upgrade your wellness right now.
[SPEAKER_03]: And also to your point on the taste, I love a child because they're always the unfiltered version, right? [SPEAKER_03]: They haven't been here as long so they don't have to get as conditioned as we may be. [SPEAKER_03]: And so my nephew, they live in London and they came over a couple years ago. [SPEAKER_03]: He must have been around four or five. [SPEAKER_03]: And he loves, I think it was great. [SPEAKER_03]: And so they would get grapes. [SPEAKER_03]: It came down. [SPEAKER_03]: They went to the grocery store at the game home.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then he ate and he's like, Mama, what is this? [SPEAKER_03]: Like, this is in a grape. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, what do you, what is this? [SPEAKER_03]: And it was the aha moment for my sister who's even American. [SPEAKER_03]: There's been gone for 20 something years. [SPEAKER_03]: And she's like, I don't understand. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, it looks like a grape. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, why doesn't it taste like a grape? [SPEAKER_03]: What's going on? [SPEAKER_03]: And I think most people, I can even just speak related to my husband.
[SPEAKER_03]: always think what's the big deal. [SPEAKER_03]: I think they just don't even get that it is a big deal because the soils are depleted. [SPEAKER_03]: Now there's these deserts that have happened from the over farming that's gone on for all of these, you know, it's been at least three decades at this point. [SPEAKER_03]: and that it does matter of why it's important to prioritize your lifestyle number one, go to the farmers market, get to know your farmer, listen to those that are actually replenishing the soils.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's almost at the whole regenerative movement now. [SPEAKER_03]: Let me sure it'll get
[SPEAKER_01]: We now have government recent government initiatives, for example, in the I think it was the first week or two of the new organic biodynamic farming initiative that is creating cats and scientists or people go down that right the head over 25,000 farms sign up in the first week or so. [SPEAKER_01]: So to con administration. [SPEAKER_01]: and your Kennedy that's running all of the department's relative to the health side. [SPEAKER_01]: He's definitely one of us have talked with him many times at Gold's gym before he got into office because now he's not as accessible and he gets it.
[SPEAKER_01]: He lives it. [SPEAKER_01]: He brees it. [SPEAKER_01]: He's also old enough that he remembers what it used to be like and he's got any, any, he's a functional element. [SPEAKER_01]: So I think [SPEAKER_01]: we're seeing some positive elements that are happening on the regulatory side that's making it more conducive because farmers are under pressure, significant money on the profitability. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the highest suicide rate out there because of the way the industries are in.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they're changing that. [SPEAKER_01]: But why do you get to get back to the, oh, sorry. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I was going to say to get back to like to circle it all back is I guess you kind of just answer the question like why it gets overlooked is I think because people don't realize what's happening with our soils, you know people like us we feel like how do you not know but people most people just don't know that so I think it's maybe it's an education thing to know that this has been going on because I think people go to the doctor at first thinking I have a problem.
[SPEAKER_03]: The problem is not to be solved in the doctor office, it's to be solved on your plate. [SPEAKER_01]: 1,000 percent. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's even that distinction that I have a problem I go to with doctor law. [SPEAKER_01]: That has been instilled into the population as your de facto choice of authority. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think I think that got shattered during the COVID debacle. [SPEAKER_01]: And now is the evidence pours out that, hey, many of these counterwork, like many of these institutions have been captured by [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I literally said it this weekend.
[SPEAKER_03]: I was speaking on a, I did a women's wellness panel and I said, we're all, you're all missing the first step. [SPEAKER_03]: Instead, I actually feel bad for doctors. [SPEAKER_03]: I said, you're putting too much on the doctor thinking that they've all the answers to solve your, they don't even go into lifestyle as, you know, medical community. [SPEAKER_01]: They're not allowed to for generally. [SPEAKER_03]: Right, your hormones, your peptides, you name it, your labs. [SPEAKER_03]: I said, but the real part is really going back to home.
[SPEAKER_03]: It starts in your house and it starts with your daily habits and it starts with you setting up your environment so we can work for you and set up the supplements that you're choosing so they can work for you and use the doctors as your advisors and as you're checking, but not the end all be all because [SPEAKER_03]: Most people will say in the longevity space 80% of longevity is lifestyle, so then you need to start with your lifestyle. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, and the thing is, you need to be the CEO of your help.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that means that everybody, including myself, who's listening or yourself or your doctor, is essentially an employee of your corporation. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: And therefore, you're the ultimate authority on your own health and your own decision process. [SPEAKER_01]: You're inviting us as divisions of information to provide you information. [SPEAKER_01]: And then you have the opportunity of testing that information and seeing how valid it is. [SPEAKER_01]: if I'm misleading someone, well, you need to fire them, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: But why I'm suggesting that is because I think people have been disempowered and to mistrust and I think because for females, I think it's just a nature of their brain, the way their brain is developed because I have more cross connections. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that they are more subject to consider more possibilities by nature. [SPEAKER_01]: And so it fluctuates because you have a lot more connections and it's like today it feels this way tomorrow it feels that way next week it's something else they reference us so so because of that we're guys are the way our brains we don't have as much cross fraction so it might take us longer to come to a decision and we'll probably take us a lot longer to leave the decision.
[SPEAKER_03]: And interesting, I like that. [SPEAKER_01]: And we have, you know, a company, for example, because we have over 57% of the employees now are female in most of our executive team is female. [SPEAKER_01]: And what's interesting, as I do believe that the advantage is, [SPEAKER_01]: is female lead executives, I think I've noticed that they're just much more up on trends and what's happening and they're more integrated in a lot of things. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's been an awesome experience.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so there is always pros and cons to understanding that. [SPEAKER_01]: But again, if you become the CEO and the thing about the CEO, there's another burden that comes with the CEO and that means that everything that's happening in your life ultimately is your responsibility. [SPEAKER_03]: All right, people don't mind that they want to blame. [SPEAKER_03]: They want to be happy. [SPEAKER_01]: So you don't get to blame anybody else. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't get to blame your hormones.
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't get to blame your diet. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't get to blame your husband. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't get to blame the kids. [SPEAKER_01]: Those are the challenges that your business of life is dealing with. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And only if you're a CEO, are you able to take responsibility and fix the things that aren't working? [SPEAKER_01]: And in order to do that, you need the right people under you or the right performance, yeah, I could pick a different place.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So, well, boy, this is a great adventure of having so much fun on this conversation. [SPEAKER_01]: We've got to get to the magnesium part, well, and that is post-World War II, let me start using. [SPEAKER_01]: So we have nitrogen, we have pesticides, it's reducing the nutrient quality, and then we have dietary elements changing. [SPEAKER_01]: because of fast food and TV foods and then we have two working families so people are relying on more three-made meals and bottom meals or externalized meals that are better built on not the same dynamics as grandma's old cooking.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and so we have like the TV numbers to the can. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: So here we have all of these dynamics, which are leading to an environment where it's almost impossible to make the right choices. [SPEAKER_01]: And the consequences of those choices aren't fully fleshed out. [SPEAKER_01]: One of the consequences of all that is that the mineral content of your food supply has been radically diminished. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you look at what's diminished it, well, [SPEAKER_01]: All of those elements go, what do you do about it?
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, this is the rise where supplementation is able to fill the gaps in an environment that you can't control. [SPEAKER_01]: You cannot control the government regulations. [SPEAKER_01]: You cannot control the farming cartels. [SPEAKER_01]: You cannot control the last 80 years of not remineralizing the soil or the use of pesticides or the dose of those are outside of you. [SPEAKER_01]: They are moving to change those things currently, but that could take
[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to make the best choices you can. [SPEAKER_01]: You need to get the right assessments and then you need to fill the gaps. [SPEAKER_01]: So man, I've been at this dean for a very, very long time, literally my whole life, literally his whole life. [SPEAKER_01]: We've coached thousands of people and one of the elements that we looked at as with our company is like, what are the items that no one is talking about that we can fill that gap better than anyone else? [SPEAKER_01]: with superior knowledge, superior product development, superior quality ingredients, and then superior marketing to communicate that two people, and then backing it all up with a bulletproof offer that if it doesn't work for any reason, you get all your money back.
[SPEAKER_03]: Take it back. [SPEAKER_01]: That's been the company ethos since we started 22 years ago. [SPEAKER_03]: which is why you are well-drop approved because of a founder like you who cares who is doing the work. [SPEAKER_03]: Like these are the companies by optimizers that we want to raise awareness to because if you're going to take a supplement, you want one that has been through all the checks. [SPEAKER_03]: I know you guys care about your sourcing, your third party testing it, and you're very thoughtful about your formulations.
[SPEAKER_03]: Were you one of the first to put the seven forms of agnesium together?
[SPEAKER_01]: you were the first okay so so so all of the people that are following in our way great now [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: They are related products. [SPEAKER_01]: They're me, too. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, for example, there's product categories that I've not entered into. [SPEAKER_01]: Simple because I know of someone who has a world-class solution. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'll go, you know what? [SPEAKER_01]: I'll just refer to people to that company. [SPEAKER_01]: Because I'm like, you know, Bob or Mary, that's the one I use.
[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the reasons why you're not going to get better. [SPEAKER_01]: And if you do bring it to you, I mean, because I'd love to see it, because I haven't seen it in 20 years and 10 years and five years and whatever it's been. [SPEAKER_01]: So when we did that analysis, we recognized that there was a massive deficient in magnesium. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you look at ancestors, our ancestors, it's so weird because we had an abundance of some things and total devoid elements which had big influences.
[SPEAKER_01]: But when we looked at the magnesium, we realized across the board with pretty much every single diet. [SPEAKER_01]: The likelihood that you would have a magnesium deficiency in the modern world
[SPEAKER_03]: Right, they say 80% of people are magnesium deficient. [SPEAKER_03]: And I see it all the time with my clients. [SPEAKER_03]: Doctors aren't even checking for magnesium. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you have the, you have the ass for it. [SPEAKER_01]: And then oftentimes that's a problem. [SPEAKER_01]: That's where you really need to have a good, naturopathic doctor or someone who can get the test that your doctor won't give you. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, you got to be able to, it's easier in the states, but in countries outside of the United States that have regulatory elements like Canada and UK and New Zealand, Australia, and all those products.
[SPEAKER_01]: You can't even get a doctor to order these things for you. [SPEAKER_03]: Wow, I didn't mean that. [SPEAKER_01]: You can't get it, you can, so this is the regulatory capsule that you might be living in if you're in those places. [SPEAKER_01]: So you really got to get someone to help you out on that stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: So we do have a higher cost in many ways of a medical in the United States, but we have a lot more freedom and options. [SPEAKER_01]: If you want to pay for it, you can get it.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that freedom is the trade off of the extra expense and cost. [SPEAKER_01]: So also you're not subjected to, you don't have the same debt problems that other these countries have. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's also an aspect of, you know, socialize Medicare. [SPEAKER_03]: So you're the first to create the seven forms. [SPEAKER_03]: And now I also have that you recently released the 10 forms. [SPEAKER_03]: When is that supposed to, or somebody who's like, oh, but I have the seven, did I buy the wrong bottle?
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, people always like go up the arms. [SPEAKER_03]: What is the use for the 10? [SPEAKER_03]: Because that's more of like you pulse that in, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So as we looked at the data of our customers who were using the products and everything, and what they were using it for, we realized that one of the, one of the reported elements out there that people were taking the product was for was sleek, and that was probably the most common element.
[SPEAKER_01]: However, when we started drilling down into the data a little bit deeper, what it really meant was people often associate a sleep issue with a sleep issue. [SPEAKER_01]: What it really is is a nervous system issue. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: you're not able to regulate down, or you're not able to regenerate enough when you're sleeping. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, yes, you might not be sleeping enough. [SPEAKER_01]: But I would say the biggest problem in today's world is kind of what you referred to earlier.
[SPEAKER_01]: The over-stimulation of the central nervous system leading to systemic fatigue in the body. [SPEAKER_01]: And then we're compensatory elements with caffeine, dietary integrations, electronic but like there's an array of solutions but at the end of the day the person's looking at their nervous system isn't regenerating enough in their recovery elements. [SPEAKER_01]: And we've done a lot of work, of course, we were coaches for years, Matt and I were coaches in professional level, I've competed at professional level, and we coach professional athletes.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so your ability to perform as an athlete is not just the amount of training, load, volume, and functionality that you're going, but it's how quickly you can recover and hit it again. [SPEAKER_01]: And any woman who has small children in the house, [SPEAKER_03]: All moms, all moms right there. [SPEAKER_01]: You 100% know that from the, you know, probably a few months leading up into into having your child. [SPEAKER_01]: And like the last few, the last try, Nester of pregnancy, often can be very difficult for for women.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then comes the freight train of stress. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And you have the stress of the newborn, you have the waking up in the night for feedings, you have all of the associated anxieties that go with, you know, being the number one source of everything for this helpless being. [SPEAKER_01]: And although there is emotionally rewarding, it creates a drain on the nervous system. [SPEAKER_01]: And that drain is real. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, [SPEAKER_03]: And I think it happens for many women.
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I have two kids. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know how many kids. [SPEAKER_03]: Do kids? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, my son's going to be two in a couple of weeks. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, okay. [SPEAKER_03]: So you're still in it. [SPEAKER_03]: I have a 15-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter. [SPEAKER_03]: And I think with one that was an easy transition, I always tell most people, new parents. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, going from one to two is a big shift because then it's [SPEAKER_03]: one on one.
[SPEAKER_03]: Like it's harder to get that alone time and that downshift. [SPEAKER_03]: It's easier to pass off the one kid, you know, with your spouse, your partner to say, okay, I need a minute, but when it's like two on two and then if you keep adding, I mean, then you're just outnumbered. [SPEAKER_03]: The stress just keeps going up and up and I think your nervous system and eventually women when our hormones start to change, especially in Perry Menopause. [SPEAKER_03]: As estrogen declined, your tolerance for managing it all starts to go out the door.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so women, like I was saying before, they slam into menopause. [SPEAKER_03]: And we didn't even grow up knowing that there's this chapter of life called Perry menopause. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm 46. [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't even know about that at 40. [SPEAKER_03]: So this is a whole new [SPEAKER_03]: You know, language, it's out there, there's all these new studies, so it's going to take time and similar with the magnesium comment of like we're living in it now like things are changing for the better for the future, but when you're in it now, you need to deal with it now and same thing with the nervous system like [SPEAKER_03]: We are in it now.
[SPEAKER_03]: We don't even know enough about our own bodies, which is just wild. [SPEAKER_03]: That's for another conversation. [SPEAKER_03]: And so how can we support it? [SPEAKER_03]: And for me, nervous system regulation is going to be the word of 2027. [SPEAKER_03]: I've already said it since like last year. [SPEAKER_03]: Like it is 100% I think people when they wake up to supporting that. [SPEAKER_03]: That's where these aha moments are going to happen. [SPEAKER_03]: They're finally going to feel in their bodies again of like, [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I feel like me again.
[SPEAKER_03]: Wow. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: And because your sense of me is generated at a nervous system, right? [SPEAKER_01]: And we think of our nervous system as like, what most people think of themselves is just like the three pounds in their head. [SPEAKER_01]: That you have to realize is, is your brain stem extends all the way to the base of your spine. [SPEAKER_01]: And so suboptable emotional states, [SPEAKER_01]: stressors that are happening, that's felt through all of the physiology.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is felt inside of the organ function and there's all sorts of research demonstrating how your emotional state, your psychological state influences everything from your immune system, to cell regulation, to your heart rate, the whole enchilada. [SPEAKER_01]: So you have, so [SPEAKER_01]: supporting that because that's the filter between you and the world, essentially. [SPEAKER_01]: What you determine as you, how you respond as you, is directly related to how great that is, and so what happens when people start going through.
[SPEAKER_01]: premenopo appearing menopause and all of that, sorry, so you start getting into that element. [SPEAKER_01]: You have to realize is that the hormone deregulation is happening because there's not enough resources inside of the body to keep your hormones at that level. [SPEAKER_01]: So now you're getting two levels. [SPEAKER_01]: You've been going through this deficiency. [SPEAKER_01]: You're whole life-nating. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's now just hit the breakpoint and you don't have the hormonal support that you had before.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's when the emergency bells start going on, you know, temperature regulation, mood or dysregulation, mood dysregulation. [SPEAKER_01]: changes in muscle tone, increase in fat mass, higher stress levels, quicker to go off the switch. [SPEAKER_01]: And then people start mitigating that, what do they do? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, let's hit a bottle of wine at night to chill the hell out. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's hit, you know, a venta coffee twice a day to keep the energy going. [SPEAKER_01]: all of which creates a nervous system stress inside of the system.
[SPEAKER_01]: So then we have electromagnetic pollution. [SPEAKER_01]: They're on our phones. [SPEAKER_01]: We're distracted a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: We're in electromagnetic environments. [SPEAKER_01]: The evidence suggested that also depletes to pleats magnesium levels. [SPEAKER_01]: So inner lab would know that. [SPEAKER_03]: Wait, I like that. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't know. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: EMF affects your magnesium levels. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so you can go to the EMF guy.
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a very, very like everything else. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a genetic variability about people's tolerance to EMFs. [SPEAKER_01]: And some people break out with disease, states, highs, rashes, and everything. [SPEAKER_01]: And then there's some people that makes no difference. [SPEAKER_01]: So understanding your EMF elements, I think, are really big, but in regards to these key minerals, so that impacts what's called aquaporns and aquaporns regulate the flow of fluid inside and outside of the cells.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so EMF's could shut it down, stress could shut it down, cortisol could shut it down, hormone is good, so shut it down. [SPEAKER_01]: various foods can shut it down. [SPEAKER_01]: And basically what happens is you close off the entrance of water into the cell and you close off the removal of waste and then the cell starts to lose its power and its energy and you have that feeling of fatigue. [SPEAKER_01]: So when it comes to minerals, the [SPEAKER_01]: it's origin and Greek is the spark of life.
[SPEAKER_01]: So it was determined how they determined this it or not. [SPEAKER_01]: So all of these various minerals inside of it are one of our goals inside of the company is to become the number one mineral company in the world by providing. [SPEAKER_01]: this a superior source of minerals along with the superior delivery system. [SPEAKER_01]: You can't take a bunch of ground up rocks and put it in your system. [SPEAKER_01]: You need to understand the mechanisms, how it digest, how it's absorbed, how biologically active it is, which is different than bio-availability, and it gets to the element of your body that it works.
[SPEAKER_01]: bioactive is, is it still working while it's there? [SPEAKER_01]: So when most companies go into third-party testing, we have our own university that we work with, Birch International University, of our own section inside of the university, we call it the Biolab. [SPEAKER_01]: At the Biolab, we have 12 PhDs, I don't know how many master students right now, who are all driving. [SPEAKER_01]: to figure out that sequence. [SPEAKER_01]: Number one, what is the quality agreement? [SPEAKER_01]: Is it bio-available?
[SPEAKER_01]: Is it bioactive inside of the body? [SPEAKER_01]: Which eliminates well over 85% of the companies who have to do it. [SPEAKER_01]: Who have passed herd party assays? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: on the product has, and it's not intuitive, I've seen products that had a hundred percent of an ingredient. [SPEAKER_01]: Pass all the tests did nothing in the body, and I've seen the same company that only had like 50 percent of that ingredient that was biologically active and created a positive result.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, there's no way intuitively that you would gather that if you didn't have a science team that had, they both the testing equipment, the intellectual capacity, and then they were kind of maniacal, although just testing everybody and everything all the time. [SPEAKER_01]: And we are. [SPEAKER_01]: And so, we just want to fast companies, most innovative company, midsize company in the world. [SPEAKER_01]: That's like a, so not just supplements, but that's innovation and we drive innovation on our R&D teams.
[SPEAKER_01]: So we have one place in Iowa who create comes up with the crazy ideas and then we have the lab in Bosnia to test the validity of these crazy ideas. [SPEAKER_01]: and so it's a it's a back and forth between like left and right drain right like oh let's make this a let's do this and then not like the left or it's not going to work that's not going to work and then they kind of make the stance back and forth to get where we're going to get and so when we add it when we did so number one you don't have to throw out your magnesium 7 breakthrough you know like magnesium breakthrough you don't throw that out it's fine it's a great product [SPEAKER_01]: But what we did discover is that for people who are looking for a little bit of nervous system responsibility, support that we found a combination of various mechanisms that actually gave a little bit of boost on that side of the equation a little bit more uptake and what it really comes down to.
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't get into all the names because you know what I would never that that's not important. [SPEAKER_01]: What's more important is that there is one element that I would say [SPEAKER_01]: And the quality of your product and the value you are getting is how much elemental magnesium are you getting in the product. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the key factor. [SPEAKER_01]: And if you're getting your elemental mini magnesium, and I think most people should shoot for a minimum of 350, but ideally, most people will respond better to some or close to 500 milligrams of magnesium a day.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're under a lot of stress and you're using a lot of caffeinated beverages, you can probably up that to 750. [SPEAKER_03]: Also because caffeine
[SPEAKER_01]: So that goes into bioavailability. [SPEAKER_01]: You are making it much harder for your body to absorb the magnesium. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so that's a lifestyle choice, right? [SPEAKER_01]: That you might be making unconsciously. [SPEAKER_01]: In other words, you don't like... [SPEAKER_01]: I guess that's technically it's just it's a little too don't know also the quality of your coffee but what going to that do I said yeah it's that's a well that's a whole other stuff like right so these are all influential but so if you're looking for the fundamental thing I think it's a good idea to shoot for for most women around 500 milligrams of that okay of elemental magnesium 350's the minimum but I think in today's world [SPEAKER_01]: with all they need a little more.
[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't seen about one in ten people will have like to take too much like if they took 500 milligrams or 500 milligrams amazing they would, you know, go to the bathroom too much or whatever. [SPEAKER_03]: that would be a sign for someone if you happen to go to the bathroom and you have good schools or something that your body telling you oops a little too much and you just back it off on the heels of sleep because that is my number one topic that I think women do suffer from. [SPEAKER_03]: Talk to me about sleep breakthrough because when I was looking for a product that would help to get my clients who are very into melatonin and I have nothing against melatonin but they couldn't
[SPEAKER_03]: things that were much stronger, some pharmaceutical medications, I was like on a mission to find something that can help support them and I tried your sleep breakthrough right when it came out and I would test it on some of my clients. [SPEAKER_03]: I always talk about the midlife experiment, who we're saying about being the CEO of your own body, I try to empower people like make a midlife experiment, try it out. [SPEAKER_03]: What's the worst, you know, if it's within safe, you know, realms of ingredients, what's the worst thing that can happen?
[SPEAKER_03]: You don't sleep, you're already not sleeping. [SPEAKER_03]: Talk to me about what is inside the sleep breakthrough that's a little bit different than just the magnesium product that you have because for the nervous system regulation aspect, I feel like that you have things in there that help to shut that brain off. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, great so. [SPEAKER_01]: First off, you go through sleep cycles. [SPEAKER_01]: Most people don't realize it. [SPEAKER_01]: There's like an N1 latency when you're first getting into it.
[SPEAKER_01]: There's like stage two, which is about 50% of your speed. [SPEAKER_01]: It has these spindles. [SPEAKER_01]: You go through these kind of like deeper elements. [SPEAKER_01]: And then when you get to stage three, that's the deep slate, the deepst. [SPEAKER_01]: sleep, which is the one that you can get the most. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, the one thing that if you're using data tracking devices on that, keep in mind that that secondary information, it's based on an estimation and what you really want to test is your ability, how you feel.
[SPEAKER_01]: That should be, I see people to get a great sleep sport feel like crap and say, you know, go with a sleep score and I've seen
[SPEAKER_01]: And so, keep an eye as it's a directional element, it's not absolute. [SPEAKER_01]: And then as four stages of dream state, usually just before waking and just as you're sleeping and that's a story with theta waves. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, the guys that we're trying to come up with the angle on sleep that used melatonin is like, oh, I'm just going to take melatonin. [SPEAKER_01]: What you want to do is be able to create an environment where your body is able to generate melatonin through its own release as opposed to an exogenous release.
[SPEAKER_01]: Exogenous release you can take a little bit. [SPEAKER_01]: The dosages are through the roof relative to what your body produces. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the difference in potency. [SPEAKER_01]: So my business partner, he's he's not he's on he has trouble sleeping. [SPEAKER_01]: It's genetic, it's famine. [SPEAKER_01]: None of this is just family has a lot of insanity. [SPEAKER_01]: They've a hard time shedding their brains down, all of that sort of stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: He spent more time effort and energy into sleep regulation than anybody.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know, and him and I are opposite protocols. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't need much sleep. [SPEAKER_01]: I get a great sleep, a deep sleep. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm a light sleeper, but I don't need that much. [SPEAKER_01]: So for whatever reason I'm able to regenerate quickly and just get on my day and I'm I'm I'm he's he's he's the opposite. [SPEAKER_01]: My wife is the opposite. [SPEAKER_01]: My wife like there's my wife before coffee and my wife after coffee is very good. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like I'm it's just like I'm a two different women right, but one has basically nothing.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then she's Brazilian and has a fast metabolizer for companies or she does well on it for me. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not so good. [SPEAKER_01]: So, going back to this, so we looked at what would be able to provide that. [SPEAKER_01]: So we do have a dose of this plus and eight. [SPEAKER_01]: That's one of the best ones around sleep, you know, and this helps reduce cortisol levels. [SPEAKER_01]: Cortisol is what keeps you up or get you up before you need to be. [SPEAKER_01]: In other words.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: Then there's P5P, it's a co-enzyme for the Muscular System. [SPEAKER_01]: This helps you balance your potassium waters. [SPEAKER_01]: By the way, potassium is one of the key elements for not having to get up in the middle of the night to urinate. [SPEAKER_01]: So, to big deal with you. [SPEAKER_03]: People will keep up because they have low potassium. [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. [SPEAKER_03]: We're adding that to my
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's it's going to be more prominent, likely, because your electrolyte levels are going to be missed bounce. [SPEAKER_01]: What's what it's like when we did our electrolyte product, which is amazing, we we did the inversion of the entire market. [SPEAKER_01]: The entire market is making sodium based. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: and they're adding multi-dextrin into it as a full well, that's because they don't even know that multi-dextrin is a flow regulator and it's in with most of the sodium products, et cetera.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's diffused everywhere. [SPEAKER_01]: And third is they don't look at the science above what actually your body needs and you need like we do a three-to-one potassium ratio. [SPEAKER_01]: So you can drink electrolytes before bed with this. [SPEAKER_01]: And you will be fine. [SPEAKER_01]: And you don't, you're in it. [SPEAKER_01]: But if you're sodium base, you're going to wake up and have to go to the bathroom because sodium potassium magnesium, kelp, calcium. [SPEAKER_01]: Those are the four big minerals that you have got to get figured out because that's what raises the electrical potential inside of the cell.
[SPEAKER_01]: So when you're tired and fatigued from a long day, [SPEAKER_01]: Often times, it's an improper balance between sodium and potassium. [SPEAKER_01]: Your sodium levels, it's really easy to get really high in today's world, and it's really hard to get the potassium balance, so we focus the other way around. [SPEAKER_01]: Same thing when you go to sleep, we added potassium gluconate to the formula so that we would be able to reset your circadian rhythm. [SPEAKER_01]: because it's once the cell is powered up, it's like if your battery's low on your computer or in your car, it doesn't work as well.
[SPEAKER_01]: Everything's dim and you've had that day where like my brain just doesn't seem to be working. [SPEAKER_01]: It's prodibly related to electrolytes and those electrolytes can treat it compared to it that you didn't sleep properly and you didn't have the elements, the precursor elements. [SPEAKER_01]: So we add that into the formulation, as well, calcium citrate, again, again, addressing these minerals,
[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's another one and for ladies, I'm going to just hit this up. [SPEAKER_01]: If your husband is not on zinc, put him on zinc. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Here's my producer. [SPEAKER_03]: She's going to go home tonight and do that. [SPEAKER_03]: Yep, noted. [SPEAKER_03]: Bye. [SPEAKER_01]: prostate health testosterone levels, men do not get enough zinc. [SPEAKER_01]: Women and men don't get it, but it's more critical for men. [SPEAKER_01]: So prostate cancers, one of the number one cancers for men, and the rest, plus the the decrease in sexual performance, et cetera, most of it can be taught trace bad to zinc and selenium for men.
[SPEAKER_01]: So just a little shout out here for folks. [SPEAKER_03]: We need to know. [SPEAKER_03]: We have to support our men because we are the nurse fetities in the household. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, put them on zinc. [SPEAKER_01]: It's really good. [SPEAKER_01]: It's also an immune system factor. [SPEAKER_01]: It's also into mental recliferation and stressful events. [SPEAKER_01]: A lot of men don't know how to talk about their stress or go deal with it. [SPEAKER_01]: They internalize it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so zinc can really help them over there as well. [SPEAKER_01]: And then of course, we add also GABA. [SPEAKER_01]: So GABA is the molecular. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like the chill molecule. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I used to go to the tea bar here in Vancouver at 05 really cool place and there you can get GABA tea and you drink this GABA tea and after about four or five cups because you're like little cups and it's like, oh, you know, Chinese tea ceremony and stuff like that. [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody just starts getting all loose and like they've had a couple of drinks or something and you can feel this relaxness happening and how you're communicating.
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's part of it, touring. [SPEAKER_01]: That's another one. [SPEAKER_01]: So touring is to offset the over-stimulation of caffeine. [SPEAKER_01]: If you are a slow metabolizer of caffeine, probably half the population is, I don't know what the actual numbers are about, Matt would know I forgot what it was. [SPEAKER_01]: So I don't want to be in this court. [SPEAKER_01]: But anyways, a lot of people [SPEAKER_01]: You could have a coffee in the morning and the effects of that coffee are still hitting you when you go to the sleep at that sleep at night.
[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you see it in a lot of energy drinks. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not to increase energy. [SPEAKER_01]: It's to reduce the overstimulation of caffeine. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I feel the difference when I take your product with Tori. [SPEAKER_03]: And I think that in the GABA is like what I can, I'm very sensitive. [SPEAKER_03]: I can notice things immediately. [SPEAKER_03]: I was like, oh, ow, I could definitely if you set yourself up, I say, and I want to get your suggestion like 60 to 90 minutes before you want to fall asleep.
[SPEAKER_03]: It's not one of those things you take in your sleeping in 30 minutes. [SPEAKER_03]: It's kind of like part of my nighttime ritual. [SPEAKER_03]: When I know I really want to kind of have a deep, good rest, you kind of have to set yourself up. [SPEAKER_03]: Is that approximately the right time or what would you recommend? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, 30 minutes before is optimal. [SPEAKER_01]: You can get in 30 minutes before. [SPEAKER_01]: I know Shaleen Johnson, she just introduced the whole sleepy cocktail.
[SPEAKER_01]: And basically, she did drink that we make tastes really awesome and we can spice it up with make it like a cocktail. [SPEAKER_01]: A cocktail. [SPEAKER_01]: A cocktail. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: And so a lot of people will take the glass of wine at night and have a ritual and just replace that ritual. [SPEAKER_01]: But the same thing, take the time, make it pretty, make it nice, sip it like you're having a nice evening. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's great. [SPEAKER_01]: Elfianning, we threw Elfianning into that mix.
[SPEAKER_01]: So Elfianning is just that's a characteristic in T as why people who drink T are not as overstimulated as people who drink coffee. [SPEAKER_01]: and thinning as element into telies, which actually reduces the stignalatory effect of the caffeine, as well as other elements in the nervous system. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's great for preceding. [SPEAKER_01]: glycine, that's another one. [SPEAKER_01]: This, this is for supporting people to go to sleep quicker, right? [SPEAKER_01]: That's called sleep latency.
[SPEAKER_01]: How fast you can actually fall asleep or are you sitting there? [SPEAKER_01]: Did I? [SPEAKER_01]: Can I get the kids lunches, did I get that things done? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, I got that. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't go do what you want to do this. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: Like the whole monkey mind that can happen. [SPEAKER_01]: So that will help reduce those things. [SPEAKER_01]: So that was the combination. [SPEAKER_01]: We also use a Catempay as a sweet and sweetener.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a protein based element on the side of that. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, so this is kind of. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's delicious. [SPEAKER_03]: I have to say it's sort of like a dessert to me because it's it's a good taste good. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not one of those things at taste bad. [SPEAKER_03]: And sometimes if I have some stressed out children at home, I will take it as well. [SPEAKER_01]: a couple more elements on the stress side. [SPEAKER_01]: So Matt and I have pushed our stress limits to the absolute maths and out there, we've found lots of formulas.
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're the type of person that you know that, hey, we've made you a bunch of recommendations and maybe you're doing them all or maybe you're doing something but you're like, [SPEAKER_01]: wait, I can't change my life, my life is what I, I have to work the 50 hours a week at the office. [SPEAKER_01]: I've got children, my husband is doing this. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not able to slow down on the stress. [SPEAKER_01]: I would tip them to give a, your next order of products from us, try to stress guardian.
[SPEAKER_01]: So Stress Guardian was developed by a neuroscientist that we work for, or that works for us excuse me. [SPEAKER_01]: That's developed our advanced neurofeedback training, which is really advanced on the nervous system. [SPEAKER_01]: Is it not only does he do that side of it on the EEGs and all that stuff? [SPEAKER_01]: He also is a Chinese master herbalist. [SPEAKER_01]: So we took that product. [SPEAKER_01]: We had him construct a super product for stress. [SPEAKER_01]: And I take five capsules a day any time I'm going to the stressful zone.
[SPEAKER_01]: So when I go on trips like I was just in Vegas this weekend, I was taking 10 stress tablet tablets a day five in the morning at five at night and over the course of 72 hours, I think I slept about eight hours total. [SPEAKER_03]: No, this is terrible, well, no, no, no, no, just not sick. [SPEAKER_03]: You're not sick. [SPEAKER_01]: No dysfunction. [SPEAKER_01]: No sleep disorder. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm dealing with a lot of people business because I, you know, it was a, it was a, it was non-stop the whole time.
[SPEAKER_01]: I had no chance. [SPEAKER_01]: And so I use stress guardian when I'm in those situations. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Because I know I'm not going to get the sleep. [SPEAKER_01]: I know that I got to have, I got to be on all the time. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just going to be a plurthor of information, distractions, et cetera. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you're in that situation, try stress-guarding. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll have some money back there too. [SPEAKER_01]: I know we weren't scheduled to talk about it, but I'd be kind of when I listen to you and I can hear the concern of your clients coming through in the tones of your statement.
[SPEAKER_01]: And yes, I want to speak to those elements, I want to speak to the elephant in the room that you can't that that that's unmanageable and just lay out some things that could help do that because I I feel that night I've been around this industry so long I want to say the things that are being unsatisfied with things that are. [SPEAKER_03]: I always say we love to talk about the things you're not warned about and the things that nobody is like sharing. [SPEAKER_03]: So I think we deal with I think what like we said women are the highest performers I know, whether you work or don't work.
[SPEAKER_03]: And so what are the tools that they can have in their toolkit? [SPEAKER_03]: You know, once we can get you sleeping, then you're resetting your nervous system, you're healing your body overnight naturally, then it sets you up for success [SPEAKER_03]: And then if you have those busy work days, you have a crazy school week, whatever it may be, what is that additional support that we can give ourselves? [SPEAKER_03]: So thank you for that suggestion. [SPEAKER_03]: I will definitely be checking that out.
[SPEAKER_03]: The way we close out all of our episodes is asking what is a one drop upon the swism you like to share with our audience. [SPEAKER_03]: And it could be anything because I think you've given us [SPEAKER_03]: So much through your company and so many tools I advise everyone to go check out bioptimizers at bioptimizers.com and we also have a special code while drop 10. [SPEAKER_03]: Everything will be listed in the show notes. [SPEAKER_03]: But for you, Wade, what is one drop a while, then this was some [SPEAKER_01]: All I'm going to give you one that is both backed up experientially as well as through data.
[SPEAKER_01]: So in our brain training elements that we use is with the process we call metamorphosis. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a week long intensive. [SPEAKER_01]: We have EEG brain things. [SPEAKER_01]: We're looking at the nervous. [SPEAKER_01]: Like it is the most sophisticated. [SPEAKER_01]: It's probably the greatest. [SPEAKER_01]: I will say spiritual neurological psychological emotional transformation thing a person can do in a week. [SPEAKER_01]: It's super expensive for us to do it with our executives and we can't find a better rate of return plus Matt and I are addicted.
[SPEAKER_01]: But in now. [SPEAKER_01]: but I'm going to give the caveat that will cost your listeners nothing and give them the most amount of value they could possibly have to managing the stress of their life. [SPEAKER_01]: And that is forgiveness work. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, what we know from the research is that when we do forgiveness and forgiveness entails forgiving others, but most importantly forgiving ourselves. [SPEAKER_01]: Those two elements, boost cognitive function, neurological function, neural network elements, it increases EQ exponentially.
[SPEAKER_01]: It changes the person's state of being more than any single thing that we do in the end. [SPEAKER_01]: In fact, you can't get to the unlocking of the gifts. [SPEAKER_01]: that we get access to when you really train your brain into a great level, you can't even access those until you do the forgiveness work. [SPEAKER_01]: So I will refer people to a wonderful book. [SPEAKER_01]: It's called Letting Go by Dr. David Hawkins. [SPEAKER_01]: It was one of the last books that he wrote, he used to go see David with a lot of people, he used to bring him down to me.
[SPEAKER_01]: He was the real deal, and his work is Par excellence, both from a psychological literature standpoint and from a spiritual element. [SPEAKER_01]: So one of his books, and it's much less complicated than many of his other books, is called Letting Go. [SPEAKER_01]: And Letting Go actually teaches you the surrender process. [SPEAKER_01]: And then, I would say, whether you're doing onopono, onopono, a lot of people talk about that one. [SPEAKER_01]: But the foundation of your emotional state is directly related to your ability to address unconscious, pain, and guilt.
[SPEAKER_01]: And shame and guilt is at the bottom of everybody's psychological experience. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, you can look at brown marriage. [SPEAKER_01]: It does all their guilt and like the humiliation stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: for name round, but it's not enough just to know about it because we all have it and we all mask it. [SPEAKER_01]: We mask it and I think women are oftentimes forced to mask it much more than other people and they think that they're the only one and what I can say is that every single person that you admired, every single person that you looked up to, every single person that you had trouble with or couldn't manage or did it like, [SPEAKER_01]: actually was dealing this with internally and their external system was just the interface to to distract people from the core element.
[SPEAKER_01]: That core element is going to catch up with you. [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to come out in physical illness. [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to come out in the emotional dysregulation. [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to come out in social rejection and [SPEAKER_01]: The only way out of it is to forgive yourself and to provide that stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: So, and I've hired a psychologist that works with me in regards to this. [SPEAKER_01]: I've hired a number of coaches. [SPEAKER_01]: I've got neuroscience involved and each and every year I spend an entire week.
[SPEAKER_01]: leaning house in this process and to make sure and you can't believe how you'll do one thing on the surface, you think it's your friend Betty and then you do the forgiveness and then that triggers your friends Angie that was in fourth grade and then that triggers something that happened with your mom or your sister pre-cognitive 37 years old. [SPEAKER_01]: When a developmental neurologic
[SPEAKER_01]: Commit it to a forgiveness process for themselves, along with others, most of the chaos that we are fearing the political divisions, the economic divisions, the perception delusional, all of that would go away. [SPEAKER_03]: Wow. [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_03]: That's amazing. [SPEAKER_03]: That is a huge drop of on this with some. [SPEAKER_03]: I will be looking into that. [SPEAKER_03]: And I can't wait to explore it. [SPEAKER_03]: And I thank you so much for sharing with us today.
[SPEAKER_03]: And we will put all the details in the show notes. [SPEAKER_03]: Go check out sleep break through magnesium breakthrough. [SPEAKER_03]: And also what was other one stress? [SPEAKER_03]: What's the new one? [SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to stress
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, Wade. [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much for being on the wild drop today. [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much as the light chatting with you as always, so. [SPEAKER_03]: Likewise.
[SPEAKER_03]: That is the drop. [SPEAKER_03]: Here's what I want you to walk away with. [SPEAKER_03]: Number one, your sleep problem may start long before bedtime. [SPEAKER_03]: If your nervous system can't handle a downshift, more hours is not going to fix it. [SPEAKER_03]: Look at your whole day from your stress to the mountain your on your screens to your caffeine. [SPEAKER_03]: Wade said it. [SPEAKER_03]: If you clear caffeine slowly, your morning coffee can still be working on you at bedtime.
[SPEAKER_03]: And according to Wade Keffin makes it harder for your body to absorb magnesium if you're taking it to. [SPEAKER_03]: Number two, flip the bottle over. [SPEAKER_03]: You want to look for elemental magnesium. [SPEAKER_03]: That's the number that tells you what you're actually going to get. [SPEAKER_03]: Wade suggests 350 milligrams as a baseline. [SPEAKER_03]: and close to the 500 for most women because we're probably running on stress and caffeine. [SPEAKER_03]: Check with your provider first, and if your stomach tells you it's too much, back right off.
[SPEAKER_03]: And number three, your sleep score is a direction and not a verdict. [SPEAKER_03]: how you feel when you wake up is data too, so trusted. [SPEAKER_03]: That's actually my number one. [SPEAKER_03]: I say, trust how you feel, don't always look at the data. [SPEAKER_03]: And Wade's drop of wisdom forgiveness work for giving others and most of all for giving yourself. [SPEAKER_03]: And ladies, put your husband on zinc. [SPEAKER_03]: You heard it here. [SPEAKER_03]: If you want to try what we talked about, magnesium breakthrough, sleep breakthrough, stress guardian.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's a new one for me. [SPEAKER_03]: They are all on the well-drop.com or by optimizers.com, use code well-drop 10. [SPEAKER_03]: Everything is in the show notes. [SPEAKER_03]: You can click the link there. [SPEAKER_03]: And if this episode landed for you, send it to a friend who might be texting you at 3am, you know the one I'm talking about.
