Wellness Real Estate: How Your Home's Light, Air & Water Change How You Feel — Diana Ulis (Ep 128)
About this episode
Wellness does not have to be another appointment, routine, or thing you have to squeeze into an already full day. Sometimes the biggest shift starts with the environment you come home to: the light in your space, the air you breathe, the water you drink, the materials around you, and whether your home helps your body soften or stay on alert.
In this episode of The Well Drop, I sit down with Diana Ulis to talk about a part of wellness we do not always think about first: the home. We get into wellness real estate, invisible wellness, and why feeling better does not always have to come from doing more. Sometimes it comes from changing the signals your environment is sending you every single day.
Diana Ulis is the developer behind The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Fort Lauderdale Beach, a project I have had the privilege of helping shape as Chief Wellness Advisor. Her approach to this residence is rooted in intentional living, from natural light, clean water, better air, calming materials, and indoor/outdoor flow to privacy, community, and the kind of effortless wellness that works quietly in the background.
What’s Discussed:
(01:21) How Diana’s personal approach to intentional living shaped the wellness vision behind the project.
(02:40) Why wellness real estate needs to move beyond the spa and gym.
(04:18) How light, water, air, layout, flow, and materials became part of the residence design.
(07:08) Why clean, mineralized, and structured water became one of the biggest wellness upgrades.
(12:14) What invisible wellness means and why the healthiest parts of a home often work quietly in the background.
(20:06) How boutique privacy, community spaces, water access, and walkability support a more connected lifestyle.

THE WELL DROP
[SPEAKER_02]: Here's something I know about you. [SPEAKER_02]: You are not short on information, and you definitely know a lot. [SPEAKER_02]: Yet, you're still not feeling the way you want to feel. [SPEAKER_02]: That's not a U-problem. [SPEAKER_02]: That's a foundation problem. [SPEAKER_02]: And here's the reality. [SPEAKER_02]: There has never been a clear roadmap for this chapter of midlife. [SPEAKER_02]: Until now, I built the well-drop because I was hired of piecing it together, too. [SPEAKER_02]: I was tired of
[SPEAKER_02]: protocols that were never built for this body at the stage in the season of life. [SPEAKER_02]: So I built the roadmap every Sunday, one drop lands in your inbox, one habit, one clear upgrade, just for where you are right now. [SPEAKER_02]: No noise, no overwhelmed, just what actually moves the needle. [SPEAKER_02]: You don't need more information, you need to build a wellness lifestyle for midlife. [SPEAKER_02]: That's it. [SPEAKER_02]: Subscribe at theweljoff.com or click the link in the
[SPEAKER_02]: you forget. [SPEAKER_02]: I'll see you inside.
[SPEAKER_02]: Hello and welcome to the Wild Drop with me, Amber Berger, a podcast for Wellness Meet Simplicity, empowering you to own your wellness, starting at home. [SPEAKER_02]: Each episode we dive into things we wish we were warned about and explore practical street forward strategies designed for busy days like you. [SPEAKER_02]: Whether you're juggling meetings, running errands, or managing family life, I'm here to help sift through the noise and show you how integrating wellness into your daily routine can be simple and stress-free.
[SPEAKER_02]: find out how by tuning in to today's well-drop.
[SPEAKER_02]: Today's conversation is one I've been waiting to have on the show for a long time. [SPEAKER_02]: My guest Diana Ulysses a developer behind the risk Carlton residences in Fort Lauderdale Beach. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a project I've had the privilege of shaping from the inside as a chief wellness advisor. [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to talk about a sector quickly redefining luxury while this real estate. [SPEAKER_02]: And more importantly, how you, the listener right now, can bring the same principles in your home, whether it's a 5,000 square foot residence or a 500 square foot apartment.
[SPEAKER_02]: So let's drop in.
[SPEAKER_02]: Diana, I want to start by clearing something up because when people hear wellness and developer, they often assume that there must be some big personal wellness transformation behind it. [SPEAKER_02]: But honestly, your openness to this approach came from a much more intuitive lens. [SPEAKER_02]: So please tell us where did this actually come from that you were open to actually infusing wellness into this project? [SPEAKER_02]: What did you see as a developer that made you willing to look at the residents build through a different lens?
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, there was no moment of, oh, wow, why didn't I do this? [SPEAKER_01]: It kind of came naturally. [SPEAKER_01]: I think I've been living my life that way. [SPEAKER_01]: And then with family, you just kind of live more of an intentional life. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, things matter to you on a different level and a more deeper level. [SPEAKER_01]: And you want to change your environment, change your atmosphere. [SPEAKER_01]: for it to be relaxing, calming, enjoyable for you and your family.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that's when Wellness entered our lives, and it just entered into my philosophy and the way I do things. [SPEAKER_01]: So when this project came along, it was very exciting to incorporate it into the project, and then make sure that everybody else has and enjoys it as much as I do. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think that you're giving such a huge gift to the residences of this project, you know, it's an amazing boutique project. [SPEAKER_02]: So I think it's like the perfect way to sort of like dip the toe and go beyond because we did go beyond the amenity space.
[SPEAKER_02]: I think historically the spa is usually considered the wellness space. [SPEAKER_02]: The gym would be the other one the space, but we went a little bit beyond that and what excited you about I think it may be because it was in line with sort of how you're living your life They were like I'm gonna bring those elements that you have in your household into the fabric of this project would you agree? [SPEAKER_01]: So the core of the project is that it's a very boutique building, thinking 83 residences, 83 families.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's such a small number. [SPEAKER_01]: I was so excited to incorporate a little bit of something into each one, right? [SPEAKER_01]: And that little bit of something changed into more and more and more. [SPEAKER_01]: What else can we do? [SPEAKER_01]: And it was the light, it was the location, it was water, air, all of these little instrumental things that we could make such a big difference in the way that someone lives their life every day. [SPEAKER_02]: And we always, I know, and we were talking about the project because of the location is so special.
[SPEAKER_02]: The, technically, could walk to the beach or have a nice little car ride to second car ride to the beach. [SPEAKER_02]: That we wanted people to enjoy living their life and not work so hard at trying to be well, where we kind of woven into the fabric of the property so that people can actually live their life. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we live such chaotic lives as us, right, whether mother, father, whoever the figure is, right, our days are filled with chaos. [SPEAKER_01]: There's something happening, something, you know, phone calls, emails, and so forth.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then you just want to come into your home and feel a sense of relaxation. [SPEAKER_01]: The environment has to be conducive to that. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's really where we started working together, and we were able to create this vision. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And so talk to me about where, what excited you do the most? [SPEAKER_02]: Like, what was the first step that you remember that we started doing together, like that was kind of like a surprise of like an aha moment.
[SPEAKER_02]: I like, oh, I can actually bring this inside to this project and extend it beyond my own home. [SPEAKER_01]: So first we started, you know, of course, obviously we're everything starts. [SPEAKER_01]: You start thinking about the spa, you know, and then we said, wait a minute, but why should you have to go into the spot to experience this? [SPEAKER_01]: And then once you start creating that feeling and that vision in your mind, we started thinking, okay, what about air? [SPEAKER_01]: You know, what about the toxins that we have in our air?
[SPEAKER_01]: What about water? [SPEAKER_01]: What else can we do? [SPEAKER_01]: The light, the layout, configuration, [SPEAKER_01]: low, right? [SPEAKER_01]: We started having all of these conversations, and they were just so natural to us, and it just kind of won beyond of what we initially thought. [SPEAKER_01]: And more and more, we constantly, you know, here's a thought. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a thought. [SPEAKER_01]: And every day when you look at these, [SPEAKER_01]: Um, renters and you look at these images and you think, look at this natural light.
[SPEAKER_01]: Look at this way of living indoor outdoor experience connecting right we talk about natural light. [SPEAKER_01]: What's the first thing you want to do when you wake up in the morning. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, get some natural sense. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, some natural sun right we have the ability to do that besides indoor outdoor every single unit is a corner unit with ample amount of light east west. [SPEAKER_01]: He's the West, is that your son or son said it's like, what a better way than to start your day or end your day and that's what I wanted to bring into this project.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I wanted the residents to feel. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what I wanted the future owners to feel. [SPEAKER_02]: And I think for me, you are a trailblazer in the space. [SPEAKER_02]: The space is, well, it's growing. [SPEAKER_02]: I just came back from the Wellness Real Estate, Symposium in New York. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's a big industry right now. [SPEAKER_02]: It's $876 billion market growing at 23.5% annually since 2019. [SPEAKER_02]: But these properties, what's exciting is that the clients are starting to demand and want some different things.
[SPEAKER_02]: The clients are changing. [SPEAKER_02]: where they want something beyond just a spa and so that this as a developer helps you to increase your profit by, you know, on average or saying 10 to 25%. [SPEAKER_02]: Have you started to see that in the sale so far now that the sale centers open that people are interested in this concept of wellness, but beyond it's more a longevity wellness focused project. [SPEAKER_01]: So what I'm seeing, I'm seeing very sophisticated buyers who are interested in more than just a pretty picture, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: They go, they look at wellness, way beyond what just looks beautiful, but they want to feel good when they step in. [SPEAKER_01]: And that was what was important to us. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's when we started looking at everything from that through that lens. [SPEAKER_01]: And the lens focused on materials, colors, pallets, [SPEAKER_01]: And then we went to like we talked about light right natural light was so important to us. [SPEAKER_01]: We looked at all of the elements. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that makes the buyer understand what we're doing and why we need to do this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Some are basically you're creating that experience from the moment they even walk into the city. [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_02]: I think one of the biggest upgrades that we made that is a true gift to everyone that purchases a property here is that we upgraded the water in the kitchen. [SPEAKER_02]: They're every day water. [SPEAKER_02]: They're drinking water. [SPEAKER_02]: They're cooking water. [SPEAKER_02]: And most people don't realize and I don't know if you even realize like just how toxic the water can be.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's something that is so essential
[SPEAKER_02]: But even just going beyond cleaning the water, which, you know, a lot of properties, they can, I don't even think anyone's really adding it except very select properties, but we weren't even beyond that where we added the minerals to the water, which is a biggest missing piece to clean water. [SPEAKER_02]: And we're also giving them a little cherry on top of structuring the water, which many people are like probably until now.
[SPEAKER_02]: to mimic what a natural spring does and so it helps the molecules to be more of like a perfect crystal shape so your body can absorb it at the cellular level and like the fact that every person is going to have that like that is just like a core piece of wellness and like you're going to feel good and need to do less things take less things and go enjoy your bike ride and like go walk on the beach path that you have here. [SPEAKER_01]: There's so much noise now around longevity and all of these big things that we could do, and I think people miss the smaller everyday things that we could do, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: And then when we get in so focused on, what are all of the routines we have to do? [SPEAKER_01]: And then we give them up because there's just overwhelming, right? [SPEAKER_01]: What you're talking about is adding something to your life that's so easy and natural, right? [SPEAKER_01]: And that sticks. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's kind of the concept and that's our philosophy here. [SPEAKER_02]: And especially as you age, like most people are dehydrated. [SPEAKER_02]: I want to say, I don't know.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_02]: And before I come into coffee, we have a day. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, that's what I'm looking at. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: But we need to re mineralize ourselves for like the deputation. [SPEAKER_02]: Both of us are big expressive lovers. [SPEAKER_02]: So it's fine. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a best way to have like a creative conversation over a cup of espresso and we have our water here for those that are looking on the camera. [SPEAKER_02]: We have a water that from the moment you walk into the sales center you're greeted with a glass of water.
[SPEAKER_02]: So you see the difference of the intention that you put behind this property. [SPEAKER_02]: This isn't just a rich property which is beautiful as it is, but even the little details. [SPEAKER_02]: I think because especially being a woman and [SPEAKER_02]: Thinking of the flow. [SPEAKER_02]: I think was a huge thing from the layouts and the materials that you chose. [SPEAKER_02]: Then of course, we worked on the flow of the spot. [SPEAKER_02]: There's like a different level of intentionality of something like architects can be good at like mapping out what you want to maximize the amount of square footage is possible, but there's also a difference of like maximizing it and living it right.
[SPEAKER_02]: sort of like, I mean, took a long time like working through a many iterations, but from where you started to where you landed, well, we're like the biggest shifts that you saw. [SPEAKER_01]: So I think from the beginning, the concept was we're not going to go big, right? [SPEAKER_01]: We want this to be boutique, we want it to be intimate private. [SPEAKER_01]: We really want you to experience this in a very quiet, calm way. [SPEAKER_01]: So the two towers, totalling 83 units, each floor plates, [SPEAKER_01]: have no more than four units of floors, so we're talking about a very small field's like home, and that's exactly what we wanted.
[SPEAKER_01]: We wanted to be intentional. [SPEAKER_01]: We wanted to be welcoming, but we wanted for you to have your privacy too. [SPEAKER_01]: So I think that was our number one goal from the beginning. [SPEAKER_01]: Then it moved towards we could create [SPEAKER_01]: something that gives you so much natural light that you're going to want to stay in your home. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: So now we created something that everybody loves, but we don't want you to leave. [SPEAKER_01]: We want you to be there.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, have your family centers there, but your friends here. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's the idea behind all of this and that that's the evolution. [SPEAKER_01]: The natural light having this whole indoor outdoor experience where our kitchens have the ability to also
[SPEAKER_01]: And that gives you not only natural light, it gives you the ability for the airflow inside your apartment, right inside your residence, and that's what we wanted. [SPEAKER_01]: So all of those, then adding on the water was critical for us. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like you said, is the first thing, what's the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? [SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully you have your glass of water after you brush your teeth, of course. [SPEAKER_01]: But that's something you enjoy, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: Then you have your espresso or coffee. [SPEAKER_01]: You cook, you have your breakfast, you have your dinners. [SPEAKER_01]: It's something we use so often throughout our day and that was important to us. [SPEAKER_01]: So really implementing something and we talk about this all the time. [SPEAKER_01]: Throughout the day, it just makes your life better. [SPEAKER_01]: But quietly in the background, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Or it's not a lot of effort. [SPEAKER_02]: Right, I like to call it invisible wellness like you're looking at the gorgeous kitchen that we have here like you would never know that under the surface is where the magic is happening right and same thing when it's coming to the air and you know choosing to do some no BOC paint so.
[SPEAKER_02]: you'll have less oxidative compounds that are in there, because most people may not realize why this is so important that the indoor airs to to five times more toxic than outdoor air. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, when you said that, it just made my air crawl. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's mind-blowing, because you wouldn't think that, but... [SPEAKER_02]: What I actually learned is that the modern days since the 1940s before buildings used to breathe, and then in the 40s we changed the construction of buildings, and we became this like closed off environment.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so things weren't filtering. [SPEAKER_02]: We used to have a lot of like natural flow of outdoor air to come inside and then filter it through, but became this closed off. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I don't know why, but now they're starting to actually there's a revert that to how it used to be from a construction sense, especially I'm talking like big buildings in Manhattan that they're really switching back to sort of like an open flow because they could tell like it's helping their employees to be.
[SPEAKER_02]: even more healthy. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, some being implored, it's easy. [SPEAKER_02]: We get to open our windows. [SPEAKER_02]: We don't have that problem, but when you're in like a big tower in New York and you're working all day in there, there's no windows don't open. [SPEAKER_02]: So you actually need that like natural flow, which is so interesting. [SPEAKER_02]: And then you can also have, of course, you add an air purifier into your house or so many cool ones now. [SPEAKER_02]: We're actually like show you the different like levels of what's in your air down here is not as much of a concern, but in urban environments, it's definitely something that's needed.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm taking a quick moment to share something with you because the number one question I get asked is, where do I even start? [SPEAKER_02]: Lucky for you, you don't have to figure that out because I already did the work for you. [SPEAKER_02]: And I've built it over the last 10 years. [SPEAKER_02]: It's called The Well Drop Blueprint. [SPEAKER_02]: No prep, no planning, just open your email every morning for 14 days and get one habit, one clear upgrade that tells you exactly what to do that day.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's it. [SPEAKER_02]: Here's your permission slip. [SPEAKER_02]: It's never too early, and it's also never too late to start. [SPEAKER_02]: The women doing this right now range from the early 30s to their 80s, because building is solid while this foundation works at every age. [SPEAKER_02]: And the sooner you start, the faster you will feel the difference. [SPEAKER_02]: The reality is women are doing great things, but off a rocky foundation. [SPEAKER_02]: The blueprint is your starting point.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's simple, it's clear, and delivered to your inbox. [SPEAKER_02]: Go to the wilddrop.com right now, or click the link in your show notes. [SPEAKER_02]: Open Tomorrow's email, it's your starting point to building a wellness foundation that helps make everything else you do work better. [SPEAKER_02]: Upgrade your wellness right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: I wanted to get a little tactical now that you've started to welcome buyers like who is the profile who's been purchasing so far. [SPEAKER_01]: We actually have a wide range of buyers, mostly I would tell you like I said, they're sophisticated, they're knowledgeable, they're educated, they know exactly what they want. [SPEAKER_01]: They might not understand how it's working in the background, but when they walk into a space, they wanted to feel calm, they wanted to feel relaxing, they wanted to feel welcoming, so the palette really mattered, of course.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, picking the right materials and making sure that it resonates with the whole wellness component was very important to us. [SPEAKER_01]: And then having them understand where they're going to be, they're going to be not in the chaos in the
[SPEAKER_01]: It's very coastal luxury lifestyle, and that's what they seek when they walk in, that's what they get excited about. [SPEAKER_01]: They're excited. [SPEAKER_01]: They're not craving. [SPEAKER_02]: They don't even know they're probably craving it. [SPEAKER_02]: Correct. [SPEAKER_02]: And what I love most about working on this project is that it's not a wellness focus project. [SPEAKER_02]: So it's like we infused these elements into the project without it being. [SPEAKER_02]: something that's coming here solely for wellness.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that wellness doesn't need to be at a single destination. [SPEAKER_02]: It should be everywhere, right? [SPEAKER_02]: It should start for me the biggest thing is start wellness at home. [SPEAKER_02]: So like I said from the beginning, no matter what kind of home you're in, it could be tiny home, big home, but like those little tiny details, those are what really [SPEAKER_02]: feel well long-term. [SPEAKER_02]: It's about like total well-being, not working so hard. [SPEAKER_02]: Like you said, there's so much noise.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so we're just helping to quietly sift through a lot of that noise. [SPEAKER_02]: That when your home is making you well, or you're only elevating a person's experience inside their actual home through the elements that you added, then they don't need to work so hard on the outside, because they just will feel whole. [SPEAKER_01]: It has to be effortless. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, right. [SPEAKER_01]: You have to be able to enjoy it and I'd have to worry to work so hard at it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because the minute you start working so hard at it, it tires you out.
[SPEAKER_01]: It was just a whole opposite of what we're trying to achieve, right? [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I love how you talk about, you know, wanting people want to feel something. [SPEAKER_02]: And we also created the space of having them feel something and all those elements that you chose, the colors, the materials. [SPEAKER_02]: you definitely feel that sense of warmth like the care that you put into it. [SPEAKER_02]: And even the level of details of the materials in the kitchen, in the bathrooms, I mean, it's not some standard box, like a lot of projects can be.
[SPEAKER_02]: Usually, I think a lot of projects actually can feel kind of sterile and cold. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: To be honest, on pictures, they look pretty. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, and then you come
[SPEAKER_02]: It does, it's a beautiful job, you tied all the pieces so beautifully together. [SPEAKER_01]: I think our focus really was on those details, you know, and then they created the bigger picture. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's what we were trying to create and I think we were able to do that with our designers, with our amazing consultants, with the architects, all of everyone played a key role. [SPEAKER_01]: And ultimately, that's where we ended up, and if you feel it, like you said, and that's [SPEAKER_01]: The people that walk through the sales gallery, they tell me though, they call this feels very relaxing.
[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I'm at home It's all great. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, and then we give them the water and they get even more. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I love that. [SPEAKER_02]: I think that that's a difference of having sometimes like a woman who's at the top kind of like [SPEAKER_02]: going through all the like the fine little details. [SPEAKER_02]: I think that we sort of are maybe sometimes more detailed oriented not to make it so gender specific, but there is sometimes like a layer like we're usually the one kind of like if you're a mother like putting all the pieces in place for your family.
[SPEAKER_02]: So then that extends into your work as well. [SPEAKER_02]: Would you agree with that? [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_01]: I think we operate in the background to make things run smoothly and maybe those details are is what created this today, but they all had to come together and it all kind of worked cohesively, but like you said at the top level someone needed to have this vision, someone needed to have the desire to incorporate and that's what we're working towards. [SPEAKER_02]: And do you see yourself incorporating this into future projects that you're working on?
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't imagine not incorporating into it. [SPEAKER_01]: This is, I think, in our DNA. [SPEAKER_01]: Actually, as a matter of fact, we started this little program where we have wellness ones these. [SPEAKER_02]: Ooh, I like that. [SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, practice what you preach. [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, we spend some time talking on Wednesday specifically about, hey, what else can we do? [SPEAKER_01]: How can we better our life and everyone, please are rolling and everyone takes a turn?
[SPEAKER_01]: I love that. [SPEAKER_01]: And they talk about what it means to them and, you know, we incorporate whatever we can or add on whatever we can. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's been great. [SPEAKER_02]: I know, I think that that's also the biggest thing and you can feel that is that when if wellness is a core pillar for you that you're now using that into the corporate culture. [SPEAKER_02]: And so that everybody can like get on board feel supported and and also understand the importance of it and understand like it doesn't need to be so complicated like we overcomplicate things so much and you're making it fun like I think it's also finding the joy to which it sounds like you guys have been having it there's been a lot of laughter I'll tell you there's been a lot of laughter at least [SPEAKER_01]: sessions and it is a lot of fun, but it's also informative and it's expanding our horizons and learning what else we could do to incorporate it just to your everyday life.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's the goal. [SPEAKER_02]: I think we were talking about maybe trying and due to the class to have your team. [SPEAKER_02]: I think that it's always great to like stay curious and then try new things and then from there you sort of figure out like what really. [SPEAKER_02]: is like the essential to incorporate. [SPEAKER_02]: And so even just from a team building, like community is such an important thing. [SPEAKER_02]: How would you envision community being infused in here because it is such a small building?
[SPEAKER_02]: Where are there little moments for gatherings that can happen in the space? [SPEAKER_01]: So the space itself is designed to have that kind of a mindset. [SPEAKER_01]: There's areas. [SPEAKER_01]: There's different amenity areas. [SPEAKER_01]: There's two pools. [SPEAKER_01]: We have a large pool, but then we also have a more intimate pool. [SPEAKER_01]: Outdoor space again, the whole idea of indoor outdoor. [SPEAKER_01]: We have an outdoor space connected to the spa, which welcomes all of the experiences of, you know, enjoying yourself, but then staying relaxed and getting [SPEAKER_01]: So, all of these spaces, we have downstairs in the lobby, beautiful library section where you could enjoy your intercostal views, and all of those areas are more intimate, right?
[SPEAKER_01]: And then, therefore, they're more intentional, and that was kind of the whole idea and concept behind this. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: And actually, you're reminding me that when we started because it was so many months ago, you know, and looking at the flow for the spa, like social wellness was a core pillar for us to work on. [SPEAKER_02]: And so we expanded the size of the sauna, creating even a hummum. [SPEAKER_02]: So it's sort of like, you could be efficient for someone can get a massage.
[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_02]: And also maybe hang out at the same time and creating that relaxation room. [SPEAKER_02]: So people can [SPEAKER_02]: gather in there like it doesn't need to be sometimes some basic spaces either like so big or they're too small, right? [SPEAKER_02]: And so we kind of found that happy medium where it's nice that people can kind of like feel that intimate that will be some meet someone new in the building. [SPEAKER_02]: while they're hanging out in the spiral, they came from the pool and they, you know, that like indoor outdoor lifestyle that you have in the units, also I see that we brought that into like the spy elements so that we optimize the space of the actual treatment rooms rather than having some big reception because it's a boutique building.
[SPEAKER_02]: You don't need some big reception. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's what we wanted to continue doing. [SPEAKER_01]: We wanted it to feel boutique intimate, intentional thoughtful, but yet still include everything that we thought it should include. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, I can't wait. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm ready to move. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm ready to move in. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm there. [SPEAKER_02]: I got ready. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, okay, I guess we're going to be hang out for a lot or a little bit more I love it.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's really up and coming changing a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a great scene coming here and evolving into a very, very exclusive area where we are so excited. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited to see this evolution. [SPEAKER_01]: Can't wait. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this is a one of the first big residential projects. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there's mostly hotels here in some hotels who have residences, but as a stand alone. [SPEAKER_01]: As a stand alone. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's another thing that's so special about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: You're getting the brand, but you're, it's a stand alone. [SPEAKER_01]: So you're getting all the services and all the luxury you would expect from the brand, but you don't have, again, the chaos that's involved with the hotel. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And that involves that actually brings the community together. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, you're here and it's you know that they're you know that these are the things right you know they're staying and also talk about the project is on the water so it's on the inner coastal even though you can walk to the beach to and so you're having some other like activities you could do paddle boarding kayaking talk about some of those elements because I think that that's really fun to create this active lifestyle.
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what we envision. [SPEAKER_01]: So there are going to be slips, but there's also an addition to slips, there's also paddle boarding that we want to include jet skiing that we're going to look into. [SPEAKER_01]: So many other water sports and again, it's just building a community dog park area. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, we welcome pets as well. [SPEAKER_01]: We love them. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's the idea. [SPEAKER_01]: There really is a sense of belonging that you have because we have the lecture having a boutique [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and I think just living a Florida lifestyle in general, depending on how you live it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Naturally, lean towards, you know, wellness and movement, if you choose to. [SPEAKER_02]: And being here, you don't, it's so convenient. [SPEAKER_02]: There's so much around you. [SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to actually be in your car, which I think is a really big bonus as well from a location standpoint. [SPEAKER_01]: walkability is so important. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's your movement. [SPEAKER_02]: That's your movement. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you get our steps.
[SPEAKER_01]: Stepson. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Get our way to count down. [SPEAKER_02]: You'll be seeing us there. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about the words called to brand for a moment. [SPEAKER_02]: It's not just this project we mentioned before. [SPEAKER_02]: It's not just like any other project. [SPEAKER_02]: It's carrying the legacy of one in the most storied hospitality brands, but decades of expertise. [SPEAKER_02]: How has the hospitality DNA shape approach been infused into sort of how we're going to care for the residences in the space.
[SPEAKER_02]: As such as a place that they're going to visit a place that they're going to live. [SPEAKER_02]: So are you looking at this more is something for people as a second and third home full time like words interest lied so far based upon I'm sure the rits brand brings in a lot of. [SPEAKER_02]: by initial buyers and interests. [SPEAKER_01]: Of course. [SPEAKER_01]: And you know, one thing I learned working with the brand is their philosophies anticipate what the residents are going to want before they understand or they could verbalize that they wanted.
[SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: And that was part of the DNA. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's why we started talking about wellness and they've been into war. [SPEAKER_01]: they opened the door and that's became something that's a pillar in the way we thought about it and that's where we started incorporating all of this as well as obviously wellness. [SPEAKER_01]: So I think overall the brand has been so supportive in the philosophy and making it more intentional. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it took expect from the service, of course, that's a given, but more than that we wanted to go a, you know, step deeper level deeper and go and understand really what else can we offer and that's and they've been great.
[SPEAKER_01]: They've been a great partner and they understand what the philosophy is that we've been sharing ideas with them and they've been sharing their thoughts and feedbacks which have always been very positive and supportive. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think this is going to be you're setting a new standard here. [SPEAKER_02]: I have a feeling. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we do really are lucky to have the luxury of having it just a stand-alone residence. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's what's needed such a special project for us, but also for the community.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, overall. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm absolutely. [SPEAKER_02]: You couldn't have said it better, I do believe that this project is setting a new standard in wellness real estate and I don't think you're going to stop here. [SPEAKER_02]: I see many more projects to come, especially as a female developer really excites me. [SPEAKER_02]: So I always love to close out my conversations asking my guess what is one drop of wellness with some you like to share with our listeners today. [SPEAKER_02]: It could be anything.
[SPEAKER_01]: anything. [SPEAKER_01]: I have to tell you the one with some I would share is look at your environment, focus on your environment. [SPEAKER_01]: What are the things that you could change to make you have a more meaningful, more common, restful atmosphere, and therefore decreasing your cortisol, making you happier, making you sleep better, waking up more, revived. [SPEAKER_01]: So I think that's to me. [SPEAKER_01]: The number [SPEAKER_01]: implemented in my life recently is really little things that could change your environment for you to live a more fulfilling life.
[SPEAKER_02]: I love that. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I think your environment shapes everything. [SPEAKER_02]: And so you start there. [SPEAKER_02]: It basically can set you free from all the noise. [SPEAKER_02]: And just to live well, right? [SPEAKER_02]: For me, it's about health span over life span. [SPEAKER_02]: Life spans, of course, important. [SPEAKER_02]: But like it's how we're going to live that life, right? [SPEAKER_02]: We want to live it really well. [SPEAKER_02]: And this property
[SPEAKER_01]: And I have to say, you know, one thing that stuck in my mind recently is put on the oxygen mask on yourself first before you help someone else, right? [SPEAKER_01]: And then making yourself just your atmosphere, your environment better, more conducive to you makes things better for you, but also for everyone else around you, right? [SPEAKER_01]: You wake up more restful, you wake up more relaxed, you're a happier person and living that life with intention just makes everything so much better [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, unspoken by a mother with three kids so it's possible.
[SPEAKER_01]: It is possible or redefining doesn't always feel that way, but it is full. [SPEAKER_02]: This struggle is real. [SPEAKER_02]: This is true. [SPEAKER_02]: But as a mom per newer, I think you're showing the kids that you have to show up for yourself first. [SPEAKER_02]: I always say we have to parent ourselves away. [SPEAKER_02]: We would parent our children. [SPEAKER_02]: So it's like, what advice are you going to give your kids, right? [SPEAKER_02]: You would say like, [SPEAKER_02]: take care of yourself first.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then you'll be able to show up stronger for the others. [SPEAKER_02]: So I think that that's such a great advice. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, Gordon, on that point, I was telling the kids that I'm doing this. [SPEAKER_01]: And they said, Oh, Mom, piece of cake. [SPEAKER_01]: This is how you live your life. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, but just the fact that they have served it, understand it. [SPEAKER_01]: No, it tells me that I'm doing something right. [SPEAKER_01]: But then that's also embedded in my philosophy, which is going to be embedded in everything we do.
[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm excited. [SPEAKER_01]: I, you know, the residents will feel it, they'll enjoy it, they'll weaken the benefits, and it's going to be working quietly in the background. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're leading by example, and we definitely can feel it. [SPEAKER_02]: So this project is so special. [SPEAKER_02]: I invite everyone to come and check it out. [SPEAKER_02]: Diana, where can we find you? [SPEAKER_01]: Go to the website. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the residences for LauderdaleBeach.com.
